Rubber Consultants’ engineers are experts in the area of earthquake protection using elastomeric base isolation systems.

Rubber Consultants can provide technical back-up to manufacturers of engineering rubber products. For example, RC engineers supported the successful bid of a company for the supply of high-damping rubber-to-metal bonded bearings for two liquefied natural gas tanks in China. The multi-national engineering contractor in charge of the project emphasised that the backing of the Consultancy was an essential prerequisite to the award of the contract to the manufacturer of the isolators.

A contract has just been awarded to supply rubber bearings for a third tank at the same facility and the manufacturer will again require technical assistance from Rubber Consultants. The three tanks together require the manufacture of over 1000 bearings.
