In December 2025, our team had the privilege of attending the MRB Rubber Technology Day and Rubber Clinic on 8–9 December, celebrating 100 years of rubber research in Malaysia. It was inspiring to be part of an event that brought together researchers, industry experts, and colleagues from across the world to share ideas and explore the future of rubber technology.
On 10 December, we held training sessions at Akademi Hevea Malaysia (AHM), covering rubber compounding and processing, visualisation techniques for rubbers, reverse engineering, and rubber in engineering. Our expert speakers—Colin Robinson, Anna Kepas-Suwara, Hiral Pisavadia, and Robert Picken—shared their knowledge and practical experience, making the sessions highly engaging for everyone involved.
We also had the chance to tour the MRB G-TACR laboratories in Kuala Lumpur and Sungai Buloh. Visiting the labs and meeting the teams behind the projects and research gave us valuable insight into their work.
One of the highlights of the trip was getting hands-on with rubber tree tapping. It was a simple yet powerful reminder of where the industry begins and the care and skill involved in producing natural rubber latex.
The visit was more than a series of events—it was a chance to meet people, share knowledge, and experience the expertise and dedication of Malaysia’s rubber industry. We are grateful to our colleagues in Malaysia for their warm welcome and generosity throughout the visit, which made the experience truly special.
